World-famous Songkran Thai New Year celebrations and where to celebrate

 

The biggest and most important of Thailand’s annual festivals, the world-famous Songkran Thai New Year is a time when family comes first, respect is paid to seniors, and people visit the temples to take part in traditional ceremonies. It is officially observed as a three-day national holiday from 13-15 April, although there are some locations that stage unique local festivities a little later.

What is it like to visit Bangkok? Shopping, Eating, Hotels and Nightlife.

Bangkok is a vibrant and bustling city, with a mix of modern and traditional culture. It is known for its delicious street food, lively night markets, and temples, including the famous Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn).

Being a multiple Australian Surfing Title-holder, my husband is obviously a well travelled, very good surfer who has surfed some of the best waves all over the world.  He was a bit worried about spending 10 days in Phuket with me and not having waves to keep him occupied, but I had assured him that he would have lots of time to chill out, rest his back and have lots of massages and spa treatments; so he was finally convinced 10days would be OK.
